Watering Plants

We've had an interesting summer of many rainy days then a few sunny days, so we took advantage of one of the sunnier days to water the plants. Rebekah has her own watering can that she will actually use to water the plants with from time to time.

Other times, she tries to drink from the can....but it doesn't always work out very well!!

But at least she ends up smiling at the end of the adventure,

especially when there are snacks involved!

So far we're having a fun summer. She is in daycare three days a week and with me two days a week. She has been able to come swimming a couple times after I am finished teaching, but I hope to get her in the lake a few more times in August!

Sign Language

You may know that we've been teaching Rebekah sign language since she was about 8 months old. She is able to communicate with us both verbally, and through sign language, and often uses both now. She will often say "more" while signing, as well as saying "done" while signing all done.

Recently I have been able to get a couple pictures of Rebekah signing.

The first is her saying she was all done in her stroller after an early morning walk with Phoebe (yes she is still in her pajamas, but it was the weekend and she saw me before I could sneak outside with Phoebe!! She LOVES going outside no matter what the weather or the clothing she is wearing, so I took her with me!)
This next picture was taken while having a snack on the weekend. We asked her if she wanted to eat, so she told us she wanted to eat!

I still think it is so amazing, especially when she picks up new signs the same day I teach them to her! She is such a smart little girl and amazes us everyday!!

Rainy Saturday

We woke this morning to a rainy day, which luckily ended up turning a bit more sunny. However, we tried to have a bit of a lazy day anyways. Rebekah recently found a toy dollhouse in the basement that we had been given, and asked daddy to bring it up to play with, so it has been a new fascination.

Here she is playing peekaboo with mommy through the front door of the house:

And she later discovered that if she pulled her couch up in front of the house, she could play in comfort....

or be a couch potato!!!
To be perfectly honest, this position lasted about 15 seconds!! She never seems to stop!!

Getting Dressed

Rebekah was up good and early after James and I were both up late last night so we were a bit tired, but we keep on keeping on as we need to.

James went to have his shower and Rebekah decided she wanted to join in the fun, so why not!

That being said, after she was back into her room she got into her chair and wanted to read her stories before bed!! I had to convince her it wasn't bed time but time to play and get the day started! I guess we have gotten her into a routine that she is quite used to!!

Once I got her into a shirt, she decided that she would put her skort on herself as she is a big girl now you know! She is 16.5 months old and VERY independent!!

We laugh at her everyday, and I love having these reminders as to why... I mean, how many times have YOU fallen on the floor and rolled around after trying to pull your pants up? Maybe we'd all laugh more if we rolled around on the floor while trying to get dressed!!

Tricycle Riding

Ok so here we go! Nap time once again and I can get to uploading videos!!

The first one is her going down the driveway on her tricycle. Anytime we get out to the garage she will typically want a ride in her car first, but then will hop onto her tricycle and as to "GO!"

She can now reach one of the pedals and will use that as a brake from time to time, but she likes to keep going and going and going if we would let her!!

Trying out this video thing...

Alright, so after some advice from fellow blogging friends, I think I am ready to try adding videos!! I hope it works out and you can see just how adventurous our little girl is these days!!

We received this tricycle from a person through the freecycle network here in Ottawa. I figured we wouldn't need it for a year or so, but the day after it came home Rebekah saw it in the garage and climbed right on. Daddy would give her a push down the driveway and she would turn onto the grass to stop. She is a big more daring now and won't turn so we have to stop her (and she gets more speed up so now gets to wear the helmet!!)

Ok so I went to upload the video and I can't find it on the computer, so here are a couple pictures of the event until I get the pictures off the camera.

We're Blogging... well I am at least!

Well here we go, I've entered the world of blogging... a bit too late I guess, but better late than never.

I was talking to my mom tonight and she has two facebook accounts, but has no idea how to get into either of them, let alone log on and look at the videos that I've posted.... Soooo, I decided I would get on the Blogspot bandwagon!

It will take me a bit to figure out how to upload pictures and videos and stuff, but I would Love advice on how to change things, make it better, suggest topics for blogging etc.

I'm not going to write too much tonight, but I will get to it soon enough and try to post pictures, updates and videos once I figure it out!

Thanks to those of you I follow on here for the added inspiration to finally get around to blogging!
