Frustrations

I am so very frustrated today.
I am annoyed at companies that have zero customer service.
Let me elaborate.

We purchased a security system through an independant dealer in our area (http://www.beealarmed.ca/). We were told at the time by Dean the salesman (who is just that, a salesman - argh) that the system would work fine with our VOIP phone system. They've had people who have used their system with no problems and it would work for us.
A year went by, and we started getting phone calls and letters from the monitoring company (Reliance Protectron) saying they were not receiving any signals, and thus were not monitoring our system.
GREAT....

Techs come by, can't find any problems with the hard ware, but the signal isn't reaching the monitoring station.
There must be something wrong with the phone.
Test that.
Nothing wrong with the phone.

No One knows what is wrong, so no one can fix the problem.

Oh, but you have to keep paying for monitoring for another year and a half. You can cancel the monitoring, but then you have to pay for the next year and a half for a service you aren't getting. Oh yeah, and if you cancel, we want ALL our money NOW.

The dealer (Dean) won't do anything about it.
Reliance will send out a tech - again. Even though last time they couldn't fix it.
No one will refund my money, or at least not charge me for a service i'm not receiving.

I'm not impressed.

Don't use Reliance Protectron or Bee Alarmed Securities.
Please

Thanksgiving Weekend

This year for Thanksgiving we opted to stay home. We have found that the long drive to visit family to be quite difficult. Rebekah really doesn't like to be strapped into her carseat for very long, unless someone is right beside her entertaining the entire time. It ends up being quite tiresome for us all, and when she isn't happy, she squeals/screams this ear piercing sound that none of us can handle very well.

Soooo, we stayed home for Thanksgiving, and will attempt the drive at Christmas instead.

James' folks came up with our Nephew and we had a great couple days with them instead. L is growing up so fast and becoming a very smart little boy. I tried to get a picture of the two kids sitting together, but they are both so active that I managed to snap a quick one of them "conversing"

They both had a great time playing Peekaboo with Nana

He's got great eyes doesn't he?

And Rebekah let me share her chair for a bit....

Even Phoebe enjoyed her time in the forest out back...

I am very thankful for all my family and the love that we are blessed with.

I am thankful for healthy kids

I am thankful for good friends

I am thankful for good food

I am thankful for a safe place to live

I am thankful for opportunity, and the ability to take advantage of it

I am thankful for life

Horseback riding

Rebekah Loves Animals.

So it was no wonder when she discovered that she could climb aboard her rocking horse, that she would love it.

Needless to say, she loves it!

Finally I got the video up... sorry it took forever!

Apple Picking

Ahh Autumn.

The leaves on the trees begin to change colours, then fall off.

Birds begin to Migrate south for the winter.
And Apples are Ripe for the Picking!

As a child we went Apple Picking every year. My dad still recalls the last time we went together, I was 16, and he got some great pictures of me picking apples at Chudleigh's Apple Farm in Milton, Ontario. Not much has changed there really, except that they are bigger than I remember. Dad and I took Rebekah there last year, but she was a bit too young to get really into it. This year however, she Loved it!!

We spent the majority of our time in the petting zoo, but she did love her first "driving lesson" with daddy, on the old tractors.

You can tell he is loving "coaching" her on how to steer, but she needs no instruction! She makes all the "vroom vroom" sounds herself, and absolutely loved the "Tucks".

I love the concentration on her face!

After playing around on all the "tucks" we headed to the petting zoo. Last year it was super busy, but it was a quieter day this time around, and we could really get up to the fences and feed and pet the animals. The squeals of delight must have been coming from all three of us, we had a blast!

There were cows, sheep, pigs, goats that had climbed up and were resting on different levels of posts (no, we didn't let her feed the cracker to the goats!).

She even had the chance to sit on a pony!

It didn't last long though. She wasn't so sure about this huge animal under her!
So she took to petting it and pointing out his eyes and ears instead!

We did finally get a chance to pick some delicious apples!

Rebekah even tried to turn the "eye to the sky" when picking her apple.

Then tried to be the big helper that she is, and pulled the wagon all by herself!

When we finished picking our bag of apples, we were right beside a play area they have. There are these giant slides that we all decided to try out. We let Rebekah try by herself, and she loved it! I was a bit nervous and had a hard time letting go of her hand, but after we all tried it together, we let her go on her own!
